The Benefits of Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera has more benefits than just soothing an aching scrape. Aloe Vera has over 200 active ingredients that perform therapeutic actions in the body. A lot of the health support aloe gives comes from its digestive properties. It helps to encourage gastric juices to flow properly into the stomach. Recent studies show that drinking just one ounce at meals can increase bio-availability of valuable core nutrients from supplements.

Aloe Vera originated in the warm climates of Africa. It is a tropical plant that can sustain freezing climates and can grow at temperatures reaching 104 degrees Fahrenheit. It is grown in Texas, California, Florida and Oklahoma. The roots can survive in the high temperatures of the jungle and the freezing cold temperatures of the tundra.

Drinking Aloe Vera during the day, before your meals, can increase immune modulation and anti-viral activity. At the University of Scranton, PA, a recent study was conducted on the bio-availability of Aloe Vera. In 2003, adults showed bio-availability of Vitamin C doubled and Vitamin E was almost 300% greater in blood plasma. The same study was repeated in 2007 in California and the researchers stated, “It’s clear that consuming Aloe Vera, along with vitamin supplements, would be beneficial, especially among populations for whom B12 deficiency is an issue, such as the elderly.”

Just consuming one ounce of Aloe Vera daily can increase the value of healthy anti-oxidants. Aloe Vera can be combined in many different ways to make refreshing juice cocktails. Adding cucumber, lemon, and apple to two tablespoons of Aloe Vera pulp in a blender creates a light and fresh drink that can help improve energy level as well as vitamin absorption.
